10 Essential Oil Blends for Spring // www.thehisfor.com

Last night, I checked the weather before bedtime and saw that there was a 0% chance of rain both overnight and all day today. But as Springtime in Texas would have it, I awoke this morning at 4:00am to a thunderstorm. It’s still raining.

When my alarm went off at 5:30, I got up and went into my kitchen to make some coffee. The whole house had this… odor… to it. I knew the smell immediately… Keira. My big dog, her gassy belly and my small home don’t always make for the best blend. I’m going to rename her Sir-toots-a-lot and I’m not saying that to make a joke… phew!

So instead of to the coffee machine, I went to my cupboard and pulled out my essential oils and tossed a flowery blend into the diffuser and went on with my morning. 20 minutes later, my house smelled MUCH better, and, with the rain falling outside and my home all clean, quiet and smelling yummy, I didn’t want to leave for work.

It’s no secret by now how much I love to use essential oils in my home. It seems like every single day, my oil diffuser is running with a new, fun blend of whatever fits my needs or fancy! I use several essential oil blends for spring time because they’re especially helpful with fighting off those spring allergies and boosting the immune system, but also because I adore the smells of the floral oils and it’s just wonderful walking into the house when rose and ylang ylang have been diffusing for a while!

Here are some of my favorite Essential Oil Blends for Spring time. These will make your home smell fresh, flowery and clean… just like Springtime!

The Mother’s Day Special
This blend is perfect for mom to use to relax on her special day. Clary Sage is wonderful for balancing hormones and Lavender is great for relaxation. **This blend is NOT for women who are pregnant, as Clary Sage is great for getting contractions going!
2 drops Clary Sage
3 drops Lavender
2 drops Chamomile
2 drops Geranium

Bug-Off Blend
This is a great blend to diffuse because it smells good, but it’s also great to use when blended together with jojoba or grape seed oil as an insect repellent! I’ve included the amount you need to make a bug spray when blended with 3 Tbs of Castor Oil. Check out this post for more.
2 drops Cedar wood [5 drops]
3 drops Lemon [10 drops]
3 drops Eucalyptus [10 drops]
2 drops Geranium [5 drops]
