11 Apr April FitPicks // I’m Busy
The skies are grey and we’re expecting severe weather today in Texas. I don’t know why, but I love the rain. I always have and I always will… There’s something about being inside with candles lit and cloudy skies outside that makes me so very happy. I love April. This month, I chose my FitPicks in accordance with the weather outside. I chose colors that match the sky and designs that make working out in the rain possible! [I even added a cute umbrella, too!] I actually bought one of these outfits and wore it to my party yesterday! Check out the recap post later this week to see which one! As always, you can shop these items by clicking on them in the photo above or at the bottom of this post!
Now to get serious about what’s going on in my world…
So, I’ve been M.I.A. over the past few weeks on the blog… It’s not that I haven’t wanted to post or write… It’s just that I’ve been so busy… so so so busy! I know they say that the end of the school year is always super crazy, but I’m certain that April has been [and will continue to be] the craziest month of 2016 for me… Dang… now that I’ve said it out loud, I know I’m jinxing myself for May. Ugh.
Here are my current jobsthat I’ve been spending all my time on:
-Teaching full-time. I teach 7 sections of high school Spanish 2 or 3 PreAP. Most teachers have 6. There are almost 30 kids in each section… over 3o in one…
-Planning the prom…. it’s like another wedding, but without the alcohol.
-Planning a 3 day Party/Extravaganza for the seniors… it’s like a music festival, mixed with a field day, mixed with a carnival.
-Starting part-time for my new position. I resigned from teaching to take a chance on an offer of a lifetime to work from home. I’ll begin this amazing new job in June, but I am already starting to build relationships and make deals happen.
-The blog. This is my outlet, but I’ve been working hard on the one year anniversary celebration party benefiting The Movemeant Foundation. The party was yesterday and was a HUGE success. Be on the lookout for an awesome recap of it later this week! Other events have been covering the Art Briles’ Winning Drive in Waco and attending Beautycounter meetings and other events hosted by my fellow bloggers.
-Middle School Bible Study. I am a youth leader at my church and every other week, 7th grade girls come to my home and we study the Bible together!
-Being a wife and mommy. Enough said with that. It’s the most important of all of my jobs.
So… yeah. Needless to say, I’ve been pretty darn busy. So busy that it’s starting to weigh on me. I’m on the verge of getting sick at all times and I’m noticing that some things are starting to fall through the cracks. I’m learning the hard way that saying NO is not just okay, it’s often times necessary. While everything I’m doing is GOOD. It’s all GOOD THINGS, too much good can still be detrimental. I’m a committer and I committed to those things, so I will see them through, but I’m worn down.
I’m learning the lesson “everything in moderation, except for moderation, itself.” I’ve learned that I CAN’T do it all without God’s help. I’m consistently praying that God provides me with strength and clarity and energy to get me through graduation at least. [June 3rd, baby!] He has provided me with an incredible, supportive husband and some amazing friends who are always there to help pick up my slack or cover for me. I’m so truly blessed, but I can’t deny I’m busy! I’m leaning on this truth to get me to the end of May:
God didn’t created us with a spirit of timidity, but one of power, of love and of self-discipline.” -2 Timothy 1:7
I’m going to run the race and keep the faith. Just bear with me if I post post 3 times a week… also, if you happen to think of me during your own prayers, please pray for energy and clarity for me. I can do it I can do it…
For now, check out these awesome FitPicks!
