It’s SATURDAY!!! And it’s a long weekend!! And I figured that there was no better way to kick off this weekend by sharing some of my favorite ways to make your home festive for Halloween!Decorating for Halloween // www.thehisfor.com

I’ve always loved decorating my home for the different seasons… My mom is the queen of this and I remember being a little girl and coming home from school to a home decorated with fun, festive things for whatever season was ahead. So now that I have a home of my own, I of course do the same thing! I can’t wait for B to be old enough to enjoy all the fun this we put out each season!

Here’s how our house is ready for Halloween! Thanks to Target, Pottery Barn and our local pumpkin patch, we’re ready for those trick-or-treaters!

I found these precious painted mini pumpkins in the $1 section at Target and decided that they would be my go-to for the season. I bought a DIY Halloween Banner kit from Whole Foods last year and here’s how it turned out!

The candles on the table are remote-activated and they can glow in whatever color I want… I’m thinking a scary purple on Halloween night… MUAHAHAHAHA!!! [that’s my scary laugh!]Decorating for Halloween // www.thehisfor.comDecorating for Halloween // www.thehisfor.comDecorating for Halloween // www.thehisfor.com

Another fun way to incorporate the season into my home that I love to do is putting out fun dish towels! There are so many options and these are what I picked up from Target in the $3 section!

These little, mini, felt trick-or-treat bags were on sale at Pottery Barn and are absolutely adorable! I would fill them with candy, but I would eat it every time I passed them. The only candy in putting out this year are these sour gummy pumpkins from Williams-Sonoma. They’re just too cute NOT to put out!

We stopped by Nicholson-Hardie to pick up some pumpkins this year and we clearly got a little carried away! They have an amazing selection! It’s worth visiting!! That cool Jack-o-lantern is from Breed and Co. in Austin! I put battery operated candle inside of it at night and it looks so cool! The lanterns, doormat and wreath are all from Target!

I’m so glad October is here and I can’t wait to dress my boy up for his first Halloween! Walking into my house like this makes me want candy corn… And I can’t have it because of this paleo challenge!! Ugh. Oh well, at least the house is done.

What do you do to decorate for Halloween?

I dont decorate my house(not enough time) but i do decorate my business (restaurant) and i love making the two door entrance like a small scary house with spider webs all over and cover both doors with “scary” covers. Love it! I just love seeing how everyone decorates for holidays. And I’m with you on creating these memories for our children. I hope my girls look back on these holidays and want to do the same things!
