01 Nov November FitPicks // Virtual Coffee Date
Before I get to my November Fitpicks, let’s pretend we’re on a coffee date today. Grab a cup. I’ll wait for you…
Got it? Good. Let’s sit down right here and talk! I’d love to catch up with you! If we were actually on a coffee date, here’s what I’d share with you:
Here we are in November [I swear this year just keeps going faster and faster] and it feels NOTHING like Thanksgiving to me… temperature-wise, I mean. I adore Thanksgiving. It’s my all-time FAVORITE holiday. So, I’m always ready for November to get here. but here we are on November 2nd and it’s hot hot hot outside… C’MON, TEXAS! Let’s get with the program here. I’m ready to wear my boots and scarves and put a fire in the fireplace! I’ll bet your coffee is over ice, isn’t it?
On a personal note, I’ve taken a bit of a hiatus from the gym lately while I try and figure out some health stuff. Turns out that at the beginning of the year, I put WAY TOO MUCH on my plate and now my body is facing the consequences… Adrenal Fatigue. I’ve started making some changes and working to get my body back on track, and I’m happy to say that I’m FINALLY getting my energy back up where I’m back to WANTING to work out again! I’m finally clicking on all cylinders! Praise the LORD! I’m so excited to work my way back up to being my old, active self!
On a side note, while I get my body back to crossfit-ready, I’m SUPER excited to say that I’m going to be hopping around the city with StudioHop for the next month! I’ll fill you in on all my favorites and keep you up-to-date with what’s going on in the fitness world again. YES!
And you know that, especially lately, half the battle for me is GETTING TO the gym! That’s where my fitpicks play a serious role for me in getting my butt off the couch and squatting again! If I dress the part, I feel like I can conquer whatever workout is thrown at me that day. So, my November fitpicks are EXTRA important in giving me that little push I need while I try and help my body get back to normal again!
One of the key elements of recovery from adrenal fatigue is rest. My anxiety has been so high that I haven’t been sleeping well over the last few months, which is definitely contributing to my body’s exhaustion. One thing I’m using to take back control of my mind and body [besides turning to Jesus, yoga and cleaning up my diet] is the MisFit Ray! It tracks my sleep so I can see how my sleep has been more restful since I’ve added some doctor-recommended supplements to my diet and gotten back to a strict no-gluten, no-dairy, no-sugar diet. Plus, the MisFit reminds me when I’ve been still for too long and taps into my competitive nature by telling me when my friends have been more active than I have that day! I love the rose gold and black, so I added it to my fitpicks for the month and picked the clothes based on my MisFit!
The rose gold looks super cool with olive green, too! Who would’ve thought these colors can look good together? I’m loving this scheme! Those rose gold shoes are my DREAM. I might have to go and get them right now… F, if you’re reading this…. can I have them, PLEASE?!?! As always, you can shop these items [yes, event the MisFit Ray] here:
Last but not least, it’s November and I love to focus on gratitude. Today, I’m so, very thankful for my health and that I have the people around me who can help me take care of myself and my body when it’s not 100% up to par. I’m so grateful for my health, though, and that this little hiccup is an easy fix!
Now it’s your turn. If we were having coffee, what would you tell me? Fill me in on your life, girl! What are you thankful for today? Please share it below!
