Fall Essential Oil Blends // www.thehisfor.com

This time last year, I began researching Essential Oils and their medicinal purpose through Aromatherapy! I began using oils around my home in a diffuser and I even took one with me to the hospital when I had Baby B [you can read about there here]! Over the past year, I’ve really enjoyed playing around with oils and making blends of my own for my family and I’ve found that this new little hobby of mine has actually saved me quite a bit of money…

You see, I used to be a candle-hoarder. I loved candles and lighting them. I used to spend quite a bit of money on buying beautiful candles for my home, but now, I can just put together a blend of smells I love, through them in the diffuser and vio-la! I’ve got a yummy home for a fraction of the cost! It’s actually a good thing too, because candles often carry harmful toxins and spread them into the air! Oils are a much more natural way to make your home smell great! Plus, they have the ability to promote wellness, relaxation and focus, boost immunities and purify the air!

These are some of my favorite Fall Essential Oil Blends that I use around my home!

The Fall Flu Fighter
This is my homemade version of DoTerra’s ‘On Guard’ blend. It helps boost your immune system and purify the air, plus it smells AMAZING!

I’ve done some research and read that a couple Essential Oil brands out there claim that they are ‘Certified Pure’, however, there isn’t a grading scale available for essential oils and, therefore, there is no ‘Certified Pure’. I do not recommend ingesting essential oils unless you’ve gone through extensive training of oils and their medicinal properties. For aromatherapy, I use Now Oils, Aura Cacia and 365 brands, although I’m planning on switching over to Mountain Rose Oils. The diffuser I use is this faux wood diffuser by Now Foods that I picked up at Whole Foods.

Also, check out this awesome way that I’ve found to incorporate Essential Oils into my home! My friend, Cindy, soaks salt rocks in different Essential Oil blends and places them on a candle warmer, which makes your home smell beautiful! She naturally dyes them any color you want [I chose seasonal Fall colors] and they come in these precious mason jars! The Salt rocks are not only pretty, they purify the air too, so they serve a double purpose! I don’t even have mine on a warmer, and they still smell awesome after 2 weeks! The best part? They’re REUSABLE! Check out her Etsy Store here!
