02 Apr Decorating for the Season // Easter
I love Easter. I love what it represents and I love its timing in the year. Easter is when I reflect on how I’ve been made new through the gift of Christ. It’s only fitting that it falls during the beginning of springtime when everything in nature is being made new again.
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! -2 Corinthians 5:17
I like to translate this refreshing sense of being made new, clean and whole into my home by adding some touches of springtime and by decorating with little, happy reminders of the reverent and celebratory holiday to come!
Here’s what I did:
I bought this “He is Risen” banner from Etsy last year. When you walk into our home it’s the first thing you see. I think that should be the truth for me; When I walk into a room, is Jesus the first thing others see?
Our dining room table has a burlap runner with Jan Barboglio glasses lined alongside a gold piece of art we received for our wedding. I filled the vases with moss and decorative eggs from Pottery Barn and added some fun, extra-large German Nesting Eggs to make it a little more festive! In the kitchen, I filled our William Yeoward bowl with the same moss and Robin eggs! The colors look so good next to the Hobnail Candles!
