23 Apr Home Tour // Baby Girl Nursery
Today, I’m taking you back inside my home to show you one of my favorite rooms in my house – A’s nursery! When I found out that I was expecting a girl, the very first thing I wanted to do was plan out her nursery, but first, I needed to transition our big brother-to-be into his big boy room. We turned the playroom into a bedroom for our boy and began considering ways to turn our blue nursery pink, without going TOO overboard! When I first picked out the furniture for the nursery, I was pregnant with B, but didn’t know the gender yet. My goal was to pick something gender neutral that I could decorate for boy or girl! Finding out that I was pregnant with a girl after having B put that quest to the test and I have to say that I’m so excited about how it turned out! In case you’re interested in the nursery transformation, here’s what it looked like when our little boy occupied it! Without further ado, here’s Baby A’s Nursery:
As you can see, we kept the same furniture and grey paint on the walls from B’s nursery and added girly touches! My childhood bed has blue tufting along the top, so we wanted to keep that french blue in the color scheme. We thought the duvet cover from Restoration Hardware Baby and Child was the perfect way to do just that! We rolled out a pink rug, hung a mobile of pink and blue butterflies over her bed and hung feminine paper flower artwork [also from RH Baby and Child] along the walls to give the space a little-girl feel! While this room as a whole is so sweet to me, it’s the precious little details that melt my heart and make me most excited to be a momma to a baby girl!
Our baby girl is finally here and bringing her home and into this nursery made me so, very happy! I can’t wait to watch her grow, learn and play in this space!
