If there’s one thing I love to do, it’s exfoliate. I know, I know, you were definitely expecting that answer, right? I feel like exfoliation isn’t something we talk about much, but it’s so important to do! I, personally, have pretty dry skin, so this has been a weekly habit for me since I was in high school. It feels so good to slough off that dead, dry skin and moisturize the fresh skin beneath it. Exfoliation is a part of my weekly routine for many reasons. To start, I love a good spray tan and exfoliating with a body scrub is an important step to get the most out of your spray tan. I also exfoliate with a body scrub for health purposes. Exfoliation helps to keep skin radiant and cleanse pores, so if you’re trying to live a healthier lifestyle in general, exfoliating with a body scrub at least once a week needs to be something you bring into the mix. It’s just so so good for you, your skin and your overall well-being.
Because exfoliating, to me, is such a healthy step for my skin, I am pretty picky about how I go about it. I like to make my own exfoliating scrub, using the best ingredients, so I always go with products from NOW Solutions. I know I can trust their products! One of the best things about making your own sugar scrub is that you can cater it to your skin and your senses! I adore the scent of rose, it’s my all-time favorite, and my dry skin really needs the moisture that jojoba oil brings to the table. The combination of the two makes this my favorite bath-time indulgence!
Here’s the recipe:
This recipe yields quite a bit. I use a small amount [about 2 Tbsp] of the scrub on each of my limbs and then on my belly and back as well. I do NOT use this on my face. After exfoliating, I typically make sure I moisturize really well, but when I use this scrub, the oil stays on my skin, giving me the most soft, glowing skin! The entire mason jar tends to last me about 10-12 scrubs.
If you’d like to check out the products, yourself, here they are:
I love to partner with NOW Solutions because I stand behind the company and their ingredients and products. Y’all know me… I don’t recommend anything that I don’t stand behind and personally use myself. Before you make this, however, there are some things you need to know about essential oils.
Natural essential oils are highly concentrated and should be used with care. Do not exceed dilutions recommended for this recipe. For adults only. Keep out of reach of children. Not for internal use. Avoid contact with eyes. Consult healthcare practitioner before using if pregnant/nursing. Not intended for use with pets. Discontinue and consult your healthcare practitioner if rash appears after skin contact.
And now, I’m headed to the shower to exfoliate, myself! If you give this recipe a try, let me know what you think!
