It’s official… I’m halfway through my 8 week program with Working Against Gravity and I’ve already seen the results I wanted to end up with after 8 weeks! So far, I’ve lost almost a full 5 pounds and multiple inches in my waist, bust and hips! I honestly cannot believe my eyes at the before and after photos! Even though my ‘before photos’ are super icky and gross, I’m so happy with my results that I’ve decided to share them with you all. Keep in mind that in the first photo, I was 11 weeks out from having a baby… the second photo was on the day my boy turned 15 weeks! Check them out!!
The most surprising thing is that this whole thing is much easier than I thought it would be. Yes, I’m calculating my food, which I didn’t do before, and yes, I’m drinking a lot of protein shakes, but overall, it’s been very easy to fit this into my busy lifestyle!
Here’s my week 4 update!
Food-wise: Even though they dropped my macro numbers a little, this week was really easy for me. They took my carbs down from 140g to 130g and my fats from 45g to 42g. Proteins stayed the same [of course… ugh]! The only thing that was hard was that I spent this weekend in Austin with my family. Now, one thing you need to know is that my family is fun, loud, crazy and we love ourselves some Mexican Food! [or as we say, in honor of my baby sister’s version of the word at age 3, “MEXAN FOOD”]! Knowing that when I got to Austin, I’d want to pig out, I saved all my macros on Friday all day because I knew that I’d be eating out when I arrived in Austin for dinner. I drank 2 protein shakes with nothing else all day and, needless to say, it worked! We ate Mexican food and I was able to fit my meal into my macros, which was awesome!
Now, I didn’t PIG PIG out…. I ate some protein-rich ceviche and had a few chips with queso and salsa… But I did get to indulge in a little AVOCADOOOOOO!!!!! Oh yes!! It was GLORIOUS.
Throughout the weekend, I did okay… It was the first time I didn’t quite hit my numbers (within 5 and 2)… but I was really proud of myself for sticking REALLY close to my numbers. Eating out and being on the go all weekend usually leads to me over-indulging, so I’m actually really proud. Also… oysters are SUPER high in protein. Just FYI.
Emotion-wise: I’ve been tired, and I was a little weary of this whole macro thing at the beginning of the week… I was having a hard time because I would get to the end of the day with a lot of proteins and I’d have to work really hard to fit them in… I started drinking a protein shake in the morning and that helped. I was also VERY frustrated at the scale. It went almost all the way back up at the beginning of the week, but then back down again towards the end! Today’s weight is the lowest it’s been to date!! YAY!!!! I’m also SO excited about my photos!!! And my measurements! I’m INCHES down and you can most definitely tell a huge difference in my physique. I mean, is this real life?
Sleep-wise: Still the same, except worse. teething baby. no. sleep. for. us.
Training: I ran really hard during my High-Intensity Interval Training yesterday. It was a doozie! I only had one “training day” this week, too. 🙁 Hopefully I can step up my game and make it to the gym a few more times next week, but like I said before [see above], teething baby.
Overall: I’m feeling pretty great about this! It’s nice to see results!! If you’re interested in more information on how you can begin this process, comment below and I’ll help you out! You can also check out Working Against Gravity.
